Under-served appetite for scientific curiosity is killing many scientists. Chronicles of Chandrayaan II.
A 9th grader from Jagtial, a 3-tier
town in Telangana is a future Indian astronaut. During rocket science workshop
last week at the school, that student bombarded me with atleast 100 questions
for 3 hours related to space science androcket science of Chandrayaan II. His
questions reflect his obsession for space, especially rocket science of
Chandrayaan 2. How did scientists calculate the trajectory of the Chandrayaan
II to the moon? What is fine braking phase vs rough braking phase of the
lander? How much propellant needed to escape the earth's gravity? Do rocket
engines burn continuosly? What is burn-time? What are worm-holes and
black-holes?
He was there with me all the day
not attending his regular classes and I could not finish my seminars. I felt
his obsession is supressed. Thanks to the director for organizing this
workshop. we need passionate educators around every subject. Anyways, he now
dreams of becoming the first Indian astronaut on Mars. And many kids wanted to
work for ISRO after Chandrayaan II rocket science workshops.
Let us not waste any more lives. Let us build a great nation.
